The roller-coaster ride continues. Paul's mom in Milwaukee has been in the hospital for over a week now. She has a form of gout which is very painful and debilitating. She's not very mobile so she can't go back home yet. They will be sending her to a rehab facility next week if all goes according to plan in the hopes of increasing . . .

Tim's cataract surgery a week ago went really well. He sees so much more clearly now -- he doesn't even need to wear glasses in order to see distance. This is the first time Tim hasn't worn glasses since he was a kid.
After five weeks off of chemo in preparation for the cataract surgery, Tim will start back on chemo . . .

All-in-all, we’re doing pretty well. We both had tests a few days ago to assess the progress of our treatments. Tim’s CT scan showed that his pancreatic tumor has shrunk slightly, the previous metastases are not visible, but there is one area that they’re keeping an eyes on. Paul’s lab tests showed his levels continue to improve with chemo. . . .

Traveling is a little more involved and exhausting these days, not to mention using masks and lots of hand sanitizer along . . .

Unfortunately, he had a case of food poisoning (now understood to be food allergy to fish) just before we left to add to the ill-effects of his chemo treatment. It was touch-and-go to get to the airport, get on the plane, and get here. Over the past couple . . .

Another one of those up-and-down times. Tim’s latest CT scan showed that his tumor continues to respond to his chemo treatments. This good news was somewhat offset by his latest round of chemo which made him more sick and for most of the time compared with previous cycles.
We’re hoping we can go ahead with our upcoming trip to see . . .

What an intense day we had at Stanford a few days ago. Not to mention taking 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back. Paul saw a social worker, doctor, another doctor and a nurse – over four hours. At first, the talk was about doing a bone marrow transplant. But, in the end, the main doctor (Lowsky – excellent!) recommended against a . . .
